Jobs Feeds - The Secret to Search Engine Visibility

Did you know that the job boards get a good portion of their traffic from search engines like Google? In fact, look at the statistics The Chad found below:

job board traffic provided by Google

Whats preventing your career site from taking advantage of some of this traffic? Simply put, it's the drop down menu.

Search Engines Cannot Read Behind Drop Down Menus

Search engines cannot select from drop down menus, therefore all of the job content behind drop down menus is invisible to search engines and therefore invisible to potential job seekers.

Learn The Secret to Visibility

The secret is search engine visibility is a job feed. Ask your ATS provider for a feed of your jobs. Put those feeds on a page of your career site that is already indexed by the search engines, just like Target did (below)

job feeds

Search engines will come by and follow your job feed links, reading all of the job content within it.

Job Content Example

Once search engines read or index your job content, they will make it available in their index for potential job seekers to find.

Jobs Are Visible in Search Engines

Granted, job candidates are not searching for "Executive Team Leader Assets Protection jobs San Jose" but this is where optimizing for the right job titles comes into play. It really just shows you how powerful something as simple as a job feed can be.

Because most applicant tracking systems aren't SEO-friendly we're starting to help our member companies for free.

First by optimizing the jobs on JobCentral for example check out the links under the logo on the right:
http://www.jobcentral.com/e-Kodak-jobs.asp

and even helping companies optimize their very own domains for FREE. For example:
http://jobs.kodak.com

Companies have been spending millions of dollars over the years in creating their very own "marketable" job sites.. Now they can get them optimized for FREE.

Hi Chad, thanks for stopping by. Jobcentral is up to some great things, keep it up.

I noticed that you're using underscores in your url naming conventions and not dashes.I personally prefer using dashes here's why:

Underscores are considered a character where dashes are ignored by search engines.

Try searching for the examples below, look at the difference in results.
